The "House Corner" offers a child a forum in which they can safely have "real life" experiences. Through dramatic play, children can take on roles they may feel hesitant about and learn to control them. A good example of this might be children setting up a hospital in the Dramatic Play Area, they can act out being doctors and nurses; this allows them to exercise control over fears about medical procedures.
Dramatic play also offers children opportunities to learn. As children act out roles, they develop many new skills. They learn about themselves, their families, and society around them. They become more physically adept at performing small motor skills. One of the most important skills learned in the Dramatic Play area is that children learn to cooperate with other by negotiating roles and playing out scenes.
