When my son entered Gateway Academy I was the mother of a 17 month old biter.  We left our previous daycare due to their inability to help me resolve my son’s biting issues. Frustrated, I hoped Gateway would help me overcome what seemed to be an insurmountable issue. The Gateway staff welcomed my family and immediately discerned the problem. My son’s inability to effectively communicate. The Gateway teachers used positive redirection to help teach my son better ways to communicate. I received daily feedback on his progress. Working together, Gateway helped resolve the biting issue. I was immediately impressed and grateful at the professional, caring manner used – a pleasant surprise based on previous experience at the former daycare.

As my son grew and it came time to change classrooms, I was concerned that the bond created between my son and his teacher would not be easily transitioned. After a short time in his new classroom, the newest teacher is always his favorite – a testament to the wonderful staff throughout the facility. The teachers make the transition a smooth one. I have more reservations than my son.

Over the next 3 years, I continued to be impressed with Gateway. The curriculum is challenging and age-appropriate. In addition to the daily feedback on his progress, I receive yearly reviews of his capabilities; clearly identifying areas where he excels and areas for improvement. Gateway is helping me create a well rounded child. As an enhancement to it’s own curriculum Gateway also offers supplemental programs, including classes in Music, Computers & Fitness. Attending classes during the day frees up time in the evening for additional family activities. I appreciate all of the love and support we’ve received since starting Gateway. This has certainly been the right choice for my family.

There are numerous day care centers within a few miles of our home. We chose Gateway Academy. We were impressed with the weekly lesson plan they have for our 2 year old son. Every week he learns more and more and we can follow the plan of the week at home. We were pleasantly surprised one night after dinner when he pushed in his chair after eating!

The care givers are kind and knowledgeable of our Son’s needs. It is welcoming for our Son to go into Gateway Academy and be greeted by the caregivers and staff by his name. Other teachers from different classes know him as well and as a parent it is a great feeling to know the caregivers at Gateway Academy genuinely care about children and when the time comes for our Son to advance to another class he will have a smoother transition.

We would recommend Gateway Academy to our friends and family who have children.
