Welcome to Gateway Academy at Smoky Hill in Aurora, Colorado. We are conveniently located five minutes west of E-470. We have been at this location for nine years. We have several staff members who have been working at the school since the time the doors opened. We pride ourselves on our veteran staff. You will experience our family atmosphere from the time you walk into the school.
In each of our classrooms we have vision windows. This allows for the natural light to come through and allows for parents to observe their children without disturbing their activities.
Creative Kaleidoscope of Learning is our curriculum program that allows the classroom teacher the opportunity to use their creativity in designing their theme-based lesson plans. The additional programs that enhance your child’s learning experience are: Zoo-Phonics, Math Their Way, Baby Signs and Spanish. These programs, as well as our themed curriculum, help develop the whole child.
We offer care and learning for children ages six weeks through twelve years old. We offer free transportation to the following elementary schools:
- Timberline Elementary
- Canyon Creek Elementary
- Aspen Crossing Elementary
- Peakview Elementary
When your child comes back to Gateway academy after school, they have Homework Club. This time is offered Monday through Thursday. Cherry Creek School District asks that each child spends 20 minutes daily reading and we have set up a quiet time for the reading to take place here at school so that your child can spend quality time with you at home.
Our off-track program provides educational learning as well as lots of fun activities. During the summer, we have a fantastic Summer Camp program, where the children ride the Gateway Bus on field trips to many fun locations.
