To give you a better idea about all that our school has to offer we are excited to introduce you to Jamie Monigold, our Preschool Director at Gateway Academy in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Welcome to Gateway Academy at Whitehall!  Our beautiful new preschool opened in September of 2009 and is conveniently located in South Charlotte at 2726 W. Arrowood Road. Our preschool is designed for children 6 weeks to pre-kindergarten.  Additionally, we have an awesome Before and After School program that includes homework help and free transportation to and from area schools.

At Gateway Academy Whitehall we believe that every child is unique and special. We also believe that children learn best through play. Under our teachers’ careful guidance, children are led through a theme-based curriculum that encourages expression in the areas of educational, social, physical, and emotional growth. Each child’s growth is further enhanced by our low teacher to child ratio that we have in every classroom.

Our curriculum features Zoo-Phonics®, Block Handwriting, Math Their Way®, Baby Signs®, Country and Cultures, Spanish, and monthly themes around which we plan our Art, Science, Sensory, and Literature programming. In addition to this curriculum we offer weekly activities which include: science, gymnastics, soccer, music and dance.

Your child will enjoy our nutritious meals and snacks that are provided by an on-site chef  – all included in our regular tuition.   Our preschool is equipped with classroom and playground cameras. Our three amazing playgrounds are developmentally separated so that every child can have the opportunity to play safely.

To ensure we meet the needs of today’s busy families, we have extended hours from 6:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.― Monday through Friday.
